Send Money with MiFinity FAQ

It’s a way to send money from your MiFinity eWallet to friends and family, either through another MiFinity wallet or a supported bank account. You might be helping with an expense back home or simply paying a friend back.

Yes, many digital wallets offer international transfers. Check that yours supports the destination and lets the recipient receive the money in a way that suits them.

With MiFinity, you can send abroad to another MiFinity eWallet or a supported bank account. Your options depend on where you’re sending it and your account status.

A digital wallet lets you hold money ready to spend or send. A bank transfer usually comes straight from your bank account. Some money transfer services also offer cash collection, which can be useful if the recipient doesn’t use a bank account or wallet.

What works best for you may not be what works best for them. Ask how they’d prefer to receive the money, then compare the cost and expected arrival time.

Start with the person you’re paying. Can they receive the money easily through that service?

Then look at how much they’ll get for the amount you spend. A low transfer fee doesn’t necessarily mean a cheaper transfer if the exchange rate is less favourable.

It’s worth checking who regulates the provider and how you can get help, too.

Log in and choose how you want to send the money. Enter the recipient’s details and the amount, then check the payment before confirming. If you need to top up your wallet first, choose from the funding methods available to you.

Take an extra moment over the recipient’s details, especially the first time you pay them.

For a bank transfer, you’ll need the recipient’s name and bank details. The exact information varies by country. A wallet transfer may only need their wallet number, and MiFinity also offers options using an email address or mobile number. Ask the recipient to confirm which details to use.

Not if you’re sending directly to a supported bank account.

For an email or mobile number transfer, someone without a MiFinity account will receive a link to sign up and claim the money. Let them know beforehand so they understand what’s arriving.

Yes. MiFinity needs to verify your identity and address before you transfer funds to someone else. Follow the instructions in your account to provide the documents requested.

If you have a payment deadline, get this done in advance. The identification guidance explains why these checks are needed.

With MiFinity, the money comes from your eWallet balance. You can add funds using the methods available in your country, which may include cards, bank transfers or local payment options.

How you fund the wallet is separate from how the recipient gets paid. You could top up by card, for example, then send to a supported bank account. See the payment methods page for funding options.

Yes. You’ll need enough available to cover the amount you’re sending and any charges, including currency conversion if it’s needed.
